SPACE is a graffiti writer from Brisbane. His style is public, funky and normally has a dope character in there. He doesn't limit himself to only writing one name and has many alias's which you can quickly tell from his style. We caught up with him for a quick chat and asked for his favorite five flicks.

    1. What got you into graffiti?

Catching the train seeing peices and tags first sparked my interest. Then waiting for a train and seeing a panel roll in really made me think, righto i'm gonna do this

    2. How would you describe your style?

I would say its a very public and simple style. I like to make graff that everyone can read with bright colours and characters.

    3. Do you have a good chase story?

Back when redfern dead yard was still getting painted some friends and i seen a heap of trains layed up next to the tracks. There was 1 clean carriage in the middle so we decided to paint it on dark, before anyone else turned up.

But after a few minutes of painting we hear someone yell " leave the paint and walk away" we thought it was writers so we didn't panic. But all of a sudden i had about 4 chubb seccys and a heap of city rail workers surround me. Everyone else managed to get away except me.. for the next few hours the cunts bashed the shit outa me, they took turns holding my arms while they belted me over the head with what i think was a baseball bat.. i was fucked.. then they dragged me underground to the running yard where they found more of their mates who also flogged the shit outa me.. i was pretty young at the time and didnt stand a chance .. after the floggings i thought for sure they would let me go but they called the cops and said i attacked em with a knife so the cops also bashed me..

But when i got back to the station and into the light the 5.0 seen how fucked up i was and i told em a story how i was taking a short cut through the yard n they thought i was painting.. they believed me and let me go without any charges and told me they will go talk to the seccys... a week later they done the same thing to my mate... fuckn dogs.. but compared to that  any chases i had since felt like a walk in the park..

    4. It looks like you paint a lot, do you ever get tired of graff?

Never. As soon as iv done a piece i start thinking of the next one. The only thing i get tired of is the amount of trips to Bunnings i need to do.

    5. What motivates you to keep painting?

I dont need motivation, its a compulsion.. i need motivation to do normal things like work and shit. Sometimes i wish i could focus on it less and focus more on real world stuff
