    Five For Five - FUEGO

    Five questions for five flicks

    Featured artist - FUEGO

FUEGO is a graffiti writer from Wellington, NZ. He started painting in 2009 and is a member of MTS CREW. He paints a fat public style and produces some super fresh panels. We caught up to find out a bit more about him and asked for his favourite five flicks.

    1. What got you into graffiti?

I blame Wellington high school for getting me into graffiti. the friends I made there are some of the best dudes I know. And were all keen to show me the ways. Catching the train to school made it even better. Also older mates EDITOR and CAST had a huge impact! Shout out to SATG!!

    2. How would you describe your style?

I would say my style is heavily influenced by Aussie public style with a dash of NZ! simple and fast is key.

    3. What is the current graff scene like in Wellington?

Welly scene needs some work forsure!! Writers here seem to be a bit lazy as of late anyway. The tracks are clean there aren't many visible illegal pieces in the city. Mainly just tags. But that's just my opinion. Welly has made a lot of good writers though LINEO, PREIST, PREO, PORK just to name a few so there's hope!

    4. Do you have a good chase story?

A mission with TDT HTL we were getting on the piss planning on doing not much more than that. Anyway we found some lines and we were off to the yard. 6 of us horses as hiding behind a tiny electric box waiting for seccys to leave. We started painting and just as we were about to finish we had to hide under the train.

I think one off the bros had a moment and scuffed the rocks so we hit the legs for a couple K's to a taxi. And two undercover seccy jump out and block us in. Luckily we managed to get out for another run and a taxi that wasn't red hot until the bro blew chunks in the back seat!

    5. What motivates you to keep painting?

The only things that motivate me to keep painting is my MTS family, friends, and a couple of cold tubes after a hard day's work. Shout out to MUBS & DOSE
