    Five For Five - SERGE

    Five questions for five flicks

    Featured artist - SERGE

SERGE is a graffiti writer from New Zealand. He's part of the very active MTS CREW who's pieces and panels have been seen all over the world. His style is simple, fresh and made for steel. We caught up to find out a bit more about him and asked for his favourite five flicks.

    1. What got you into graffiti?

Early on first year of intermediate school i met some guys who went around covering the school in vivid tags, fowarding onto high school i met more and we started going on tagging missions, wagging school and walking the tracks.
2007 i got caught and decided that maybe i would just do pieces because there more accepted.
By 2009 i was back at square one fully hooked.

    3. Do you have a good chase story?

hmm some nice runs in rome but i would have to say the time me Dries and Eriks were doing full colour whole cars in wellington, We got 3 quarters of the way through when we noticed a cars head lights. While we were Discussing whether or not we should leave or try finish, They started boosting towards us so we all split me being on the end of the carriage i took off around the corner with everyone following me and then took a first left straight into the cleaning shed, all i could hear was tick tick tick, then came the water turning on behind me as i ran soaking a few of the guys behind me hahaha i really couldn't believe it at the time. We all got away luckily.

    4. Looks like you have done a lot of travelling, can you tell us about a crazy mission abroad?

Europe trips in general, fuck all sleep, countless train trips, sleeping in bushes, sucks at the time but always worth it i don't really have a crazy mission abroad although getting a gun pulled on me in napoli in 2013 was pretty fucked up. coming from New Zealand it wasn't really something i was used to but turned out to be a highlight haha.

    5. What motivates you to keep painting?

Friends! Love meeting new people and meeting up abroad. Ive made some good life time friends through graffiti and had some great times as stressful as it can be at times i wouldn't of been the places I've been if it weren't for graffiti.
